How Much Does It Cost to Enter Kruger National Park

How Much Does It Cost to Enter Kruger National Park?

Short answer: it depends on your nationality and age — SANParks charges a daily conservation fee per person (different rates for South African residents, SADC nationals, and international visitors). These rates apply on a per-day basis (and are valid for the 2025/26 tariff period: 1 Nov 2025 – 31 Oct 2026). Advance day-visit bookings also attract a small non-refundable administration fee. (SANParks)

Current (2025/26) daily conservation fees — per person, per day

(Adults = 12+ years; Children = 2–11 years; infants under 2 enter free.)

  • South African citizens & residents: Adult R134 · Child R67. (SANParks)
  • SADC nationals: Adult R275 · Child R137. (SANParks)
  • International (non-South African) visitors: Adult R602 · Child R300. (SANParks)

Infants (under 2 years): free entry. Proof of age rules apply (children 2–11 pay child rate). (SANParks)

Advance day-visit booking / administration fee

If you pre-book a day visit through SANParks’ online bookings you will pay a non-refundable administration (booking) fee in addition to the conservation fee. SANParks has been applying an administration fee of R59 per adult and R29 per child for online day-visit bookings (this fee is separate from the conservation fee and applies during busy periods / when day-visitor quotas are in effect). Wild Card holders still pay the administration fee to pre-book. (SANParks)

How fees are collected and ID requirements

  • Conservation fees are paid per person per day. They’re normally payable at the park gate or via SANParks online bookings when you reserve. (SANParks)
  • South African citizens/residents must present valid SA ID (or accepted proof) to qualify for the lower local rate. SADC nationals and other foreigners must present a passport (and visa if applicable) to qualify for the relevant rate — if ID or passport is not produced visitors may be charged the standard international rate. (SANParks)

Wild Card (membership) and discounts

  • SANParks Wild Card holders may be exempt from paying daily conservation fees when presenting a valid Wild Card (but may still need to pay the day-visit administration/book- ing fee if they pre-book). Wild Card pricing/options are available on SANParks’ Wild Card page. (SANParks)

Practical tips

  • Check dates: the rates above are the SANParks tariffs valid 1 Nov 2025 – 31 Oct 2026. SANParks updates tariffs annually — always confirm on the official SANParks Kruger rates page before you travel. (SANParks)
  • Book ahead during peak times: Kruger enforces daily gate quotas during busy periods; pre-booking secures entry but adds the small admin fee. (SANParks)
  • Bring ID/passports for everyone in the vehicle — gate staff will ask for proof to apply the correct tariff. (SANParks)
