The Mac Mac Falls entrance fee is reported at around R20 for South Africans and R50 for foreign visitors, though sources differ and some quote R50 flat. It is a small local charge collected at the parking area rather than a published conservation levy.

Mac Mac Falls is on the Panorama Route between Sabie and Graskop.

Bring Cash and Small Notes

The fee is collected at the turn-off and curio stalls beside the parking area. Unlike the MTPA viewpoints, which take card, these smaller waterfall stops are typically cash-only. Arriving with card alone is the most likely way to be turned back.

Mac Mac Falls and Mac Mac Pools Are Separate

The falls viewpoint and the Mac Mac Pools picnic and swimming site a short distance away are charged separately. Paying at one does not admit you to the other.

The Walk

From the parking area a steep cemented path with many steps leads down to the viewing platform above the falls. Factor that in for anyone with limited mobility — the viewpoint is not reachable from the car park without the descent.

Not All Panorama Stops Are Priced the Same Way

The Blyde River Canyon viewpoints are run by the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency and charge a published conservation levy. The waterfalls closer to Graskop and Sabie are collected locally, which is why their fees are lower, cash-based and less consistently documented.

For the MTPA-run viewpoints see Blyde River Canyon entrance fee.

Price Source and Last-Checked Date

These figures come from secondary sources, not an operator-published rate card. Mac Mac Falls does not appear in the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency published tariff schedule, which covers only the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve sites. Available third-party reports disagree on whether the charge is R20, R50, or split by nationality.
