A Table Mountain Aerial Cableway adult return costs R475 booked online or R530 at the ticket office, with children aged 4 to 17 at R230 and R270. South African senior citizens pay just R130 return. These rates are valid from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.

Booking Online Saves R55

An adult return is R475 online against R530 at the ticket office, and a child return R230 against R270. Online tickets are valid for seven days, so booking ahead does not lock you to one date — useful given how often the cableway closes for wind.

The Senior Citizen Rate Is Exceptional

Concession Return One-way Conditions
SA senior citizen R130 R70 Valid SA ID, seven days a week
Student R320 R200 Valid student card, ticket office only

At R130 return, a South African senior pays 27% of the standard adult fare — one of the largest concessions at any South African attraction, and it applies every day rather than on a set weekday. The student rate is only sold at the ticket office, so students should not book online.

Fast Track

A Fast Track return costs R1,200 and one-way R750, skipping the queue. That is two and a half times the standard return.

No Peak and Off-Peak Pricing

The cableway does not publish time-based peak pricing, so a morning ticket costs the same as an afternoon one. What changes with conditions is whether it runs at all — high wind closes it, and tickets are refunded or reused rather than time-limited.
