Is parking free at Carnival City?
Parking at Carnival City is not always free.
What official event listings show
On multiple official Carnival City (Sun International) event pages, the published terms and conditions state:
- Parking costs R20 per car
- Sun MVG members get free parking (often written as “MVG’s free parking”) (Hotels, Gaming and Entertainment Group)
This means that if you’re attending a ticketed show/event (especially at venues like Big Top Arena / Mardi Gras), you should expect paid parking unless you qualify for Sun MVG free parking.
What some ticketing pages add (walk-ins)
At least one major ticketing listing (Computicket) also states:
- Secure parking available at R20 per car
- Free for MVG members and walk-ins (Computicket)
“Walk-ins” here typically means people who arrive on foot (no car to park).
So… is it free or not?
- Driving in for an event: usually R20 per car (not free). (Hotels, Gaming and Entertainment Group)
- Sun MVG members: often free parking (per event terms). (Hotels, Gaming and Entertainment Group)
- On-foot visitors (“walk-ins”): may be free (as stated on some ticketing pages). (Computicket)
What to do before you go
Because parking terms can vary by event and venue, the most reliable check is:
- Look at the specific event page on Sun International’s Carnival City site (or your ticketing page) for that day’s parking line item. (Hotels, Gaming and Entertainment Group)
