The Pretoria National Botanical Garden entrance fee is R100 for adults in peak season and R80 off-peak, with children at R30 and under-6s free. Pensioners enter free on Tuesdays. These are the rates published by SANBI.

Pretoria is one of the few national gardens that prices seasonally rather than by residency, so the month you visit changes the fee.

Peak and Off-Peak Explained

Peak runs September to March and off-peak April to August. An adult saves R20 and a student R5 by visiting in the winter months. The child rate of R30 does not change with the season.

Opening Hours

The garden is open Monday to Sunday, 08:00 to 18:00, with no entry after 17:00. Arriving after 17:00 means you will not be admitted even though the gates remain open for those already inside.

What the Fee Covers

Admission covers day access to the garden and its walking trails. Events held in the garden are ticketed separately and a concert or market ticket does not substitute for day admission.
