Wild Card passes (season/annual access)

If you plan multiple park visits, SANParks offers Wild Card passes that grant access to many parks (different clusters and international options). How fees are applied and paid

  • The conservation fee is payable per person per day at the gate or as part of a booking when you check in for overnight stays. Guests on guided tours pay the conservation fee per night at first camp check-in. (SANParks)
  • SANParks may apply a small non-refundable administration / booking fee for some online or special bookings — check the booking flow (examples of admin fees have appeared in SANParks notices). Always confirm on SANParks booking pages at time of purchase. (Facebook)

ID & documentation required

  • South African citizens must present a valid ID (or driver’s licence where specified) to get the resident rate.
  • SADC and international visitors must present a valid passport to qualify for the SADC or international rate respectively. (SANParks)

Day visitors, capacity limits & busy periods

  • Day visitors are welcome, but SANParks enforces a daily visitor threshold. On very busy days (public holidays, long weekends, festive season) access may be restricted to pre-booked overnight guests once the threshold is met. If you plan a day visit during peak times, pre-booking or arriving early is advised. (SANParks)

Quick tips

  • Check SANParks first. Fees can change annually and SANParks advises rates are subject to alteration without notice — always verify on the official SANParks pages before you travel. (SANParks)
  • Consider a Wild Card if visiting multiple parks or returning to Kruger several times in a year — it can be more economical. (SANParks)
  • Bring ID/passport to avoid being charged the higher international rate by mistake. (SANParks)
