One of Cape Town’s Cheapest Major Heritage Sites
At R50 the Castle is markedly cheaper than Cape Town’s other headline heritage attractions. For comparison, Robben Island charges R400 for South African adults and Zeitz MOCAA R350.
Last Ticket Sale Is 15:45
The Castle is open Monday to Sunday, 09:00 to 16:00, but the last ticket is sold at 15:45. It is closed on Christmas Day and Workers’ Day.

A Note on the Rate Labelling
The published table is headed “International Fee”. No separate South African resident rate appears alongside it, so the R50 adult figure is the rate to plan on unless the Castle confirms a local concession at the door.
