Ferry Departure Times
Standard tours depart at 09:00, 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 from the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront. Allow about 3.5 hours in total including the crossing.
What the Ticket Includes
One ticket covers the return ferry, a bus tour of the island’s historical sites and a walking tour of the maximum-security prison led by a former political prisoner. There is no separate island entrance fee on arrival.
Weather Cancellations
Sailings depend on sea conditions and are cancelled in bad weather. Book early in your trip rather than on your last day, so a cancellation still leaves room to rebook.
