There are several types of entrance fees:

  • Non-refundable entrance fee: A lower-cost, one-time fee that secures residence but provides no refund if the resident leaves or passes away[1][2][3].
  • Partially refundable entrance fee: A higher fee where a predetermined percentage (often 50% or 90%) is refunded upon leaving the community or upon the resident’s passing[1][2][6].
