The entrance fee for Petra depends on your visitor status and length of stay in Jordan:
- 50 JOD for one-day entry if you are an accommodated visitor (stay at least one night in Jordan)
- 55 JOD for two-day entry for accommodated visitors
- 60 JOD for three-day entry for accommodated visitors
- 90 JOD for a one-day entry for non-accommodated visitors (arrive and leave Jordan the same day)
- 1 JOD for Jordanian citizens and residents (with a valid residence permit)
Children under 12 can enter for free. These tickets can be purchased at the Petra Visitor Center, where you will need to present your passport for verification. Payment is accepted in cash (Jordanian dinar or US dollars) or by card.[5]
If you visit Petra on your first day in Jordan and spend the night in the area, you pay the non-accommodated visitor fee (90 JOD) but can claim a 40 JOD refund the next day, effectively paying 50 JOD.[1][3]
There is also the option to buy the Jordan Pass, which includes your Petra entry and waives the Jordan visa fee, provided you stay in the country for a minimum of three days. Jordan Pass options start from 70 JOD.[4][7]
