Galapagos National Park Entrance Fee

The Galapagos National Park entrance fee will increase from August 1, 2024, marking the first adjustment since 1998[1][2][3]. The new fees are:

  • International visitors (age 13+): $200 USD
  • Children aged 12 and under: $100 USD
  • Citizens of CAN/MERCOSUR countries (e.g., Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay): $100 USD
  • Ecuadorian residents (age 13+): $30 USD
  • Ecuadorian children aged 12 and under: Free
  • Infants under 2 years old: Free for all nationalities

The fee is usually payable in cash at the airport upon arrival to the Galapagos Islands[3][5]. Payment is required to enter the park, and failure to do so prevents travelers from leaving the terminal[3].

Exemptions and reductions apply for Ecuadorian visitors aged 65 and over, and those registered as disabled[1].

This fee adjustment aims to sustain conservation, infrastructure, and community initiatives while helping to offset the environmental pressure from rising tourism. The funds are distributed among several local entities, mainly the Galapagos National Park, municipalities, research institutes, provincial government, navy, Ministry of Environment, quarantine and pest control, and the marine reserve[1][3].
