The Student Rate Has Two Conditions

The R60 student rate applies only to students aged 18 or over who are registered at a South African institution and can produce a valid student card. An international student card does not qualify for this rate — an international student aged 18+ without a South African institution card pays the R270 international adult rate.

Where the Child Rate Ends

The child rate covers ages 6 to 17. From 18 a visitor pays either the student rate with a card, or the full adult rate for their residency band. Under 6 is free with no proof required.

Family Planning Note

Two South African adults with two children aged 6 to 17 pay R300 in total. If you visit monthly, SANBI family membership at R1,600 a year works out cheaper.

Cash Is Not Accepted

Kirstenbosch no longer takes cash. Tickets are bought online through Webtickets or by card at the gate.
