Pilanesberg’s entrance fees rose steeply on 1 December 2025, to a reported R168 for South African adults and R84 for children aged 5 to 12, with foreign nationals at R748. A separate per-vehicle charge applies on top, and the figures exclude a community conservation levy.
Pilanesberg is a provincial reserve run by the North West Parks and Tourism Board, not a SANParks national park, which is why its rate structure differs.
Reported Pilanesberg Tariffs
| Category | Reported rate |
|---|---|
| South African adults | R168 per person |
| Children 5–12 | R84 per person |
| Foreign national adults | R748 per person |
| Vehicle entry | R160 per vehicle |
This Was Roughly a Doubling
Reporting on the increase describes the South African adult rate rising from R80 to R160 before levies, foreign visitors from R110 to R680, and vehicle entry from R40 to R160. If you are working from an older figure, budget considerably more.
A Levy Is Added on Top
The published tariffs exclude a community conservation levy of 5% for South Africans and 10% for international guests. The R168 and R748 figures above appear to be the levy-inclusive amounts; the R160 and R680 are the base rates.
You Pay Per Person and Per Vehicle
Unlike SANParks parks, which charge per person only, Pilanesberg charges a vehicle fee as well. Two South African adults arriving by car pay roughly R496 including the vehicle, not R336.
Why We Are Hedging
The North West Parks and Tourism Board indicated that final tariffs including all levies would be confirmed once consultations concluded, and available sources give slightly different figures. Treat these as close but not exact, and confirm on +27 (0) 14 555 1600 before travelling.
Price Source and Last-Checked Date
These figures come from tariff reporting and third-party listings rather than a rate card we could read on the reserve’s own site. Sources differ on whether quoted amounts include the community conservation levy.
