The Sterkfontein Caves entrance fee is R150 for adults, R125 for children aged 6 to 18 and R100 for pensioners with ID. Children under 6 enter free, limited to two per paying adult. The caves are managed by the University of the Witwatersrand.

Free Entry on Your Birthday
Visitors enter free on their birthday with ID. Unlike some attractions that give a birthday month, this is the day itself.
The Exhibition-Only Ticket
At R80 you can see the exhibition and preparation laboratory without going underground. That is a little over half the full price and worth knowing if anyone in your group cannot manage the cave descent.

Arriving after 15:00 means no tour, even though the site stays open until 16:00. The caves also close on 25 and 31 December.
Booking
Tickets are sold through Webtickets online or on site. With a 30-person cap per tour, booking ahead matters on weekends and in school holidays.
