The Mac-Mac Falls is a 65-metre waterfall on the Mac-Mac River in the Mac-Mac Forest Nature Reserve, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

How much is Mac Mac Falls entrance fee?

R30/person

You do not need a permit for this walk, but an entrance fee of R30/person is payable at the entrance gate to the Mac Mac Pools. Picnic and toilet facilities are available and swimming in the crystal-clear mountain stream is refreshing.

Can you swim in the Mac Mac Falls?

There are also a series of pools at Mac Mac falls – great for swimming – and a braai and picnic area, so timing your visit for lunch time and an afternoon swim is not a bad idea.

Is Mac Mac Falls open?

How did Mac Mac Falls get its name?

Due to the vast number of Scotsmen working in the area at the time, all with similar surnames beginning with “Mac,” the then president of the Transvaal, Thomas Burgers, named the area Mac Mac. These magnificent falls were declared a National Monument on the 18th of February 1993.
